When a parent is in the situation where they are evaluating residential treatment centers for troubled teens it feels like the world is coming to an end - the trauma and stress is indescribable and words do not adequately capture the emotional pain associated with the turmoil and chaos. Most undoubtedly, choosing a residential treatment center for your child is one of the most difficult events a parent will undertake.

"Where is your crystal ball when you need it?"

Choosing the right residential treatment center option that fits to your child's unique mental health needs is almost impossible. However, if there was ever a program that truly understands the parent's need during this stressful time, it is Turning Winds (TWAI).

We've heard from countless parents stating, "The admissions counselor at Turning Winds calmed our storm and helped us make the right decision." The most remarkable part of these testimonials is that many of the parents did not enroll their child at Turning Winds. Meaning, the TWAI admissions counselorTurning Winds Students Doing Homework helps parents find the best program for their child, and sometimes Turning Winds is not the best option.

Many times, the TWAI admissions team will help hurting parents find a local treatment option. The most important point is, parents can trust that Turning Winds is committed to helping parents find the best therapeutic program for troubled teens, and many of these teens find help near home.

The "Turning Winds difference" is not an accident. Many years ago the founders of Turning Winds were parents of a troubled teen. Their experience was painfully profound and did not end well. The TWAI admissions counselor is the original founder of the program. He authentically understands the plight of the parent. Turning Winds exists today based on a commitment to help families avoid the same painful experience the founders experienced decades ago.

We highly recommend you contact Turning Winds and share your story. They will help steer your search in the right direction. Call 800-845-1342 and we will introduce you to the professional staff at TWAI. They will be happy to answer all of your questions.

The Turning Winds Way - Does Your Child Need Help?

As parents, it can be difficult to tell the difference between “typical” teen issues and those that are serious - emotional or mental disorders. Teens are known for being rebellious, disrespectful, angry, mean-spirited, and most of all, moody.

If you’re questioning whether or not your teen's issues warrant a therapeutic intervention like Turning Winds, you first need to know the depth of your child's problems. Turning Winds is very good at helping parents determine their options; seeking local treatment options first, therapeutic boarding schools second, or a residential treatment program when warranted.

What Is The Best Program For Your Child?

Most parents do not know the difference between wilderness programs, therapeutic boarding schools, and residential treatment centers. While each of these offers "help" and "hope" for troubled teenagers, there are huge differences.

The Turning Winds Difference

Turning Winds is a hybrid program. They have blended the benefits of wilderness therapy, therapeutic schools, and RTC's. Turning Winds uniquely supports teens in overcoming their emotional, mental, and academic problems and rebuild their lives. TWAI uses the power of nature, academic excellence, and both group and individual therapy in a strength-based program that typically spans 12 months – enough time for teens to achieve real change, and master what they’ve learned.

Most students enrolled at Turning Winds complete high school and enroll into collegeAs much as Turning Winds would like to help every troubled teen, they are known they are not always the best therapeutic option for every troubled teen. In order to provide the best care for their students, Turning Winds serve troubled teens who meet the following criteria: anxiety and depression, attention deficit disorder (ADD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), co-occurring and dual-diagnosis disorders, eating disorders (mild to moderate);obsessive-compulsive disorder, and oppositional defiance disorder (mild to moderate). We can also provide therapeutic service teens with select medical needs that include type-1 diabetes and girls who are pregnant up to 30 weeks.

The best way to find out if Turning Winds is the right program for your child is to speak with them in person. Call all 800-845-1342 and we can help you start the conversation.
