Georgia is the 4th state of the United States of America. It is located in the southeastern region of the country, flanked by the Atlantic Ocean and South Carolina on the east, Alabama on the west, Tennessee on the north and Florida on the south. Its capital and largest metro area is Atlanta.

The state's climate is classified as humid subtropical climate, mainly affected by its geography. On the northern part of the state is Blue Ridge Mountains of the Appalachian Mountain range. The central piedmont region extends from the mountain's foothills to the fall line where the rivers cascade down in elevation to the continental coastal plain of the southern part of the state. This area is colder than the rest of Georgia. The Atlantic Ocean to the east also influences the state's climate, with widespread precipitation, tornadoes and tropical cyclones that occur regularly.

Georgia has over 1,700 internationally headquartered facilities that represent 43 countries worldwide, employing more than 112,000 workers with an estimated capital investment of $22.7 billion. There are 15 of the Fortune 500 companies headquartered in Georgia, including Coca Cola, UPS, Delta Air Lines, Home Depot, Aflac, Southern Company, SunTrust Banks, etc. If the state is a country, it would have the 28th largest economy in the world.

Due to high human development index, Atlanta has one of the best education systems in the United States. Georgia has 62 public colleges and universities, in addition to over a hundred private educational institutions.
