Description of Program:
All of J Bar J Youth Services programs operate with the same philosophy a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Model aimed at getting back to basics with youth. Our program philosophy is Accountability Based Cognitive Restructuring (ABCR). The program teaches a simple truth freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. Our program maintains this consistency and reliability to ensure that the youth know what to expect during their process of change. Each student has an individual treatment plan based on their needs and a Case Manager to guide them through this process.
The Behavioral Component is based on levels, and mirrors the real world. The students earn privileges and freedoms depending on their willingness to work through the phases of change. The Cognitive Component helps identify their specific patterns of irrational thinking that causes them to feel and behave irrationally, making poor choices. As many of us know, the change process starts with understanding, then learning, and finally the gradual change. The amount of time each student spends here at The Academy at Sisters varies based on their issues and willingness to work through their individual treatment plan.
